Looking for a gift for someone that is pretty active? We got you covered. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
We really like the Fitbit Charge 2 (see on Amazon). It’s a solid activity and sleep tracker with a built-in heart rate monitor. It has an attractive design, super clear OLED display and supports interchangeable bands. It also has a feature called Connected GPS, which basically means if you bring your phone with you on a run, it will relay GPS related stats right to your wrist.
Next up is the Fitbit Blaze (see on Amazon) – we couldn’t leave it off the list because people just seem to love it. It basically does the same things as the Charge 2 but it has that nice, stylish element to it.
The Garmin vivosmart HR+ (see on Amazon) is also a nice option. It has all of your standard activity and sleep tracking capabilities plus a built-in wrist heart rate monitor. It also supports smartphone notifications and allows you to control music playing on your phone and even some of the Garmin action cameras. The little cherry on top here is that while it looks like your average fitness tracker, it actually has GPS, which means it’s basically also a running and cycling watch.
We really like Jaybird headphones for working out. The X3s (see on Amazon) are hard to beat all things considered. They have a pretty cool design and there are plenty of different methods for wearing them – i.e. over-ear, under-ear, different size ear fins, foam tips, silicone tips, etc. The X3s have great sound quality and you can even change the sound profile to best fit your personal preferences via the Jaybird MySound app. They also have good battery life and come in at a decent price point. Of course if the price is still a little rich for your taste, look into grabbing the Jaybird X2s on discount. The X2s (see on Amazon) are still great headphones and will definitely get the job done.
Ok, so first up for the CrossFit people out there – no brainer – have to go with the Reebok Nano 6.0s (see on Amazon). They are super comfortable, durable and versatile for dynamic movements and running. Hands down these are the best CrossFit shoes on the market. If you’re looking for a gift for a person that is into CrossFit, they will definitely appreciate these.
If you’re looking for some cheaper workout shoes that can still do it all – definitely check out the 5.11 Tactical Recon Trainers (see on Amazon). The Recons are super breathable, flexible and have great tread. They are good for just about anything – CrossFit, running, strength training, plyometrics, etc.
Lastly, we have the Nike RN FlyKnits (see on Amazon), which are some of the most versatile shoes we’ve tested. You can use them as day-to-day casual shoes or for running, sprinting and strength training. They are ultra breathable, comfortable and they look pretty awesome too.
Dumbbells and other gym equipment are always great gift options for fitness buffs looking to expand their home gyms. Be sure to check out dumbbells (Bowflex SelectTech 552 and PowerBlock Elite), squat racks (CAP and Fuel Performance are always solid options) and Crossover Symmetry resistance bands (these are real deal).
Accessories & Supplements
Last up here, we have a few different accessories and supplement ideas for the active person. Food storage and meal prep containers are always a must for the health and diet nuts that work long hours or lead crazy lives. A Hydro Flask or Blender Bottle are also good ideas for people on-the-go to ensure they get their water and protein intake for the day. Finally, let’s face it, we all could probably use a new gym bag – we like the gym bags from 5.11 Tactical and Under Armour.
