The Jaybird X3s are just to tough to beat all things considered. First, they are cheaper than the Powerbeats3 and just offer more versatility in the way you can wear them compared to the Powerbeats3. You can wear them under-ear, over-ear, with foam tips, with silicone tips, with earfins…you get it. They also have better sound isolation and just better sound quality in our opinion. The other cool thing with the X3s is that you can change your sound preferences within the Jaybird MySound app.
The Beats Powerbeats3 are nothing to sneeze at though. The fit is more secure than the X3s, meaning they are better for training and lifting. They also have better Bluetooth connection and range. However, perhaps the biggest feature with the PB3s is battery life – which beats the X3s by about 3-4 hours. Expect to get around 2-3 workouts before you charge them again. They also have fast fuel charging, which will give you an hour of playback with only a five minute charge. Really you can’t go wrong with either the X3s or the Powerbeats3. Both will most likely be on the list for Best Workout Headphones 2017.
