More Information:
So you bought yourself a Google Home and you love it. You two are just right together. You get it. It gets you. You’re a regular high school couple at band camp for three weeks over the summer before your senior year.
Anyway, the point is you’re inseparable, which is why you need something to make your Google Home portable. Enter, LOFT Portable Battery Base. It allows you to take your Google Home anywhere in your house that has a Wi-Fi signal. Let’s say you primarily keep your Google Home in your kitchen, but you want to listen to music while you’re showering. Previously, you needed to unplug your Google Home and then plug it back in and wait for it to boot back up in your bathroom. That’s inconvenient, obviously. The LOFT changes all that. You simply unplug your speaker and move it to the bathroom. Done. It still continues to play and there’s no need to boot it back up.
The first cool thing about the LOFT Portable Battery Base is the price – at $50 [check price on Amazon], it’s a reasonably priced product for what it is. We like that about it. I mean, you’ve already payed for the Google Home, so you don’t want to break the bank for an additional accessory.

LOFT Portable Battery Base for Google Home – Design
So, if you’re familiar with Google Home, you know that it’s a plug-in deal. But the LOFT plugs into the base of the Google Home speaker to make it a portable device. You just detach the GH base, and attach the LOFT. Super easy to use. You don’t need to screw it in or twist it down. It actually just pops onto the Google Home.

You can keep tabs on how much battery is left via the 4 LED lights on the front of the LOFT base. Plus, it uses the same charger as the GH, so you can still use it as a desktop speaker when you’re recharging.

We like that the LOFT has a non-slip grip on the base and that you still have access to the mute button and touch panel, but we’re not crazy about the material choice (we prefer the fabric) or the color options – “carbon” (black), “snow” (white), and “copper” (shiny peach mixed with Kraft mac & cheese?).

LOFT Function & Battery
We like that the setup of the LOFT is super easy. It’s a simple, straightforward product, so there’s no reason for it to be complicated.
The LOFT is powered off a lithium-ion rechargeable battery and it’s 8-hour battery life is great, but we probably wouldn’t say it’s a big plus because powering the Google Home while unplugged is literally the point of the product.
